Brain science & Improvement Science

Brain Science and Education

Recent brain science findings reveal how our brains changewhen we learn, helping teachers make learning better for students.

Improvement Science

Improvement science in education uses proven methods to make teaching and learning better. It helps teachers solve problems and improve results, and it gives parents useful tips for their child’s education.

Recent discoveries in brain science have revealed amazing insights into how children’s brains learn and develop. Picture scientists observing the intricate activity of brain cells as your child learns something new! One key finding is neuroplasticity (Goldberg, 2022), which shows that our brains can change and adapt as we learn. This means that learning isn’t fixed but constantly evolving, influenced by our experiences. Armed with this knowledge, teachers are better prepared to support students in their learning journey, helping them reach their full potential.

Now, how do teachers keep getting better at what they do? That’s where improvement science comes in! It’s like a secret toolbox filled with proven strategies to improve teaching. By using these tools, teachers can keep refining their methods, making learning experiences even more enjoyable and effective for your child.

This year, our teachers are diving into the Plan-Study-Do-Act (PDSA) approach (Gordon, 2013). It’s all about working together to identify any gaps in our curriculum and your child’s learning journey. Our goal? To keep working together and evolving, using the power of improvement science to ensure that every child receives the best possible education. Let’s embark on this journey of growth and learning together!
